Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will testify Wednesday afternoon before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee on the fiscal 2026 budget for the department as he pushes his “Make America Healthy Again” initiative.
Since being sworn in to helm the HHS, Kennedy has overseen significant layoffs across its agencies and canceled billions of dollars in federal grants to universities and public health departments.
He has also made it his mission to find the root cause of autism — announcing a program earlier this month to partner with the National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to research the topic.
Kennedy also faced questions from a House Appropriations subcommittee earlier Wednesday.
The hearing is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. EDT.
